Concrete intelligence at ACF 2026: what it means for ready-mix producers

Concrete Intelligence was the theme of ACF 2026, the 11th International Conference of the Asian Concrete Federation, held in Taipei on October 14 and 15, 2026. What was ACF 2026 about? 

The Asian Concrete Federation holds its international conference every two years. The 2026 edition took place in Taipei in the 20th anniversary year of the Taiwan Concrete Institute. It brought together about 300 delegates from 20 Asian countries and 250 papers. 

The theme, Concrete Intelligence: Designing a Greener, Safer, Smarter Asia, put digital technology, carbon management and the full life of concrete on the same agenda. That is the right agenda for ready-mix producers, because most of the decisions that shape quality, cost and carbon happen load by load. 

What does concrete intelligence mean for a ready-mix producer? 

Concrete keeps changing after the truck leaves the plant. A load can leave on specification and arrive differently. 

Without live information, teams find out when the load reaches the jobsite. By then there are fewer options and each one costs more: a delayed pour, a rejected load, or a dispute over what was delivered. 

Verifi measures every load while it is moving: slump, temperature, drum activity and truck location. It  adds automated in-transit control, dosing the admixture each load needs, so concrete arrives within spec, ready to pour. 

When producers can see slump, temperature and drum activity in transit, they can act while the load is still in their control, not when it reaches the jobsite. In practice that means: 

• Dispatch sees which loads need attention now. 
• Quality control has a record of every load, linked to truck, batch and project. 
• Contractors and producers work from the same facts when a question comes up.

The results show up in the field. On HS2 in the UK, rejected loads fell from 2.5% to 0.4% on average per site. Every load that is not rejected saves the concrete, cement and fuel that went into it.
